Family Fitness Fest: '23 Winter
Our SEVENTH Family Fitness Fest is upon us! Packed with four fantastic activities, our next virtual festival will be February 16-26 so you and your family can make the most out of your February break! This opportunity is open to all families who have students in the SVSU.
Please note that all activities can be altered to be done with your own resources, in your own neighborhood. All activities should also be completed under the supervision of an adult.
When is the event?
February 16-26, 2023
Who can participate?
This opportunity is open to all families who have students in the SVSU.
How will it work?
Take a look at the FOUR activities below. You will receive one ticket for each activity completed, but you may only complete each activity once. That means you have the opportunity to earn a maximum of four tickets. In order to get credit for completing an activity you must complete the Google Form* that is linked below each activity. You won't be getting physical tickets - but don't worry! When you fill out the form, your information will be collected. We will use that for our virtual drawing. At the end of the Fitness Fest, we will do a random drawing for each prize!
*Please contact your teacher if you need a paper copy of the form!
Prizes include:
Basketballs
Snow Sleds
Painting Activity Set
This opportunity is open to all families who have students in the SVSU. All prizes will need to be picked up in person at Mt. Anthony Union Middle School (MAUMS) or Fisher Elementary School. Prize winners will be notified via the email address they submit through the evidence submission forms. Prize winners will have 2 business days to verbally claim prizes, and then an additional 5 business days to pick up their prize from a designated location. The failure to claim prizes will result in a re-draw for a new winner.
Cooks for the Community: Eggplant Lasagna
We are excited to bring back our popular healthy eating and cooking activity! This year we are cooking up some eggplant lasagna. Participants will have two options: a live, in-person cooking demonstration OR a bring-home activity, like year’s past.
The live demonstration will be held on February 16 at 5:30 pm at Mt. Anthony Union Middle School. Participants of this event will be able to watch a professional chef make the recipe in real time. Each family will go home with a kit including all of the ingredients to make some at home!
If families prefer, they will be able to pick up meal kits at Mt. Anthony Union Middle School or Fisher Elementary School (please note which one on the sign up form) at a designated time. These kits will include everything families need to make the lasagna in their own home, including a disposable pan! Participants will have the chance to win a crockpot or Air fryer.

Fitness BINGO
Take some time to get up and moving while having fun! Cover five spaces in a row by completing various activities. This can be vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Which activities you do is completely up to you in this Fitness BINGO. There is everything from taking a breathing break to having a dance party to your favorite song. These activities can be completed solo or with a family member.

Compass Walks
In this activity you will create short outdoor walks that are guided by a compass, complete with hidden objects for your friends to find. It is a great way to learn about how to use a compass to tell cardinal directions and move through the landscape on specific compass azimuths.
This activity should be done under adult supervision.
