Screening Committee chair and SVUESD School Board chair Christopher Murphy highlighted the success of the process thus far. “The Screening Committee was thrilled to be presented with so many highly qualified candidates. It was really an embarrassment of riches. After some careful deliberation and thoughtful discussion, we were pleased to advance our final three choices to the Supervisory Union Board for their final decision. Truly, our S.U. is in a no-lose situation.”
The board now begins its work scheduling the next phase of the process. Each finalist will be invited to visit the SVSU community to participate in a variety of activities including school visits, student interviews, a virtual community forum, and an interview with the SVSU School Board. Visits are scheduled for March 11-13.
Further information about the three finalists will be released in the days leading to their visits, including a full schedule of tours and information about how to attend the virtual community forum.
In preparation for finalist visits, the SVSU School Board is asking for community input to prepare questions for candidates to answer during their community forum. A survey has been prepared which will allow proposed questions to be submitted. The survey will remain open until March 6 at 6:00 pm and can be accessed from the SVSU website as well as directly from the link provided HERE.
The SVSU School Board looks forward to providing further updates in the coming days. We appreciate the feedback and input our community has provided throughout the process and encourage continued engagement and participation as we move to the next important phase of the process.
