It has been brought to our attention that a section of ceiling tiles and a number of unit ventilators in the math wing of the high school have developed mold spores due to moisture exposure. Out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to grant the MAU Director of Facilities the authority to bring in contractors to perform the remediation and cleaning. Affected ceiling tiles will be removed and replaced, and recommended cleaning will occur under controlled conditions. This project will commence as soon as possible and will be expedited.
As a result of this decision, all freshmen students will remain remote for the week of September 28 - October 2. An update on the status of the situation will be provided on Thursday, October 1.
